Family Vacations in a nutshell

Why does it always seem that when we take family vacations, the most interesting things happen? Not saying that our recent vacay to Arizona was absolutely bizarre, but I can't help but chuckle when I reminisce about the events and people from our vacation.

In a nutshell, here is how our summer getaway went down. . . .

We met the nicest person ever who worked at the pool by our rooms, who starred in the Hilton infomercial channel on TV representing "The Works" by giving his customer an enthusiastic thumbs up when he sees the customer is satisfied with his smoothie.

We pondered how a bunch of recent high school graduates could afford to stay at such a nice resort, and also how a group of people in one room could smoke, what we believed to be weed, inside their hotel room with the sliding doors open that overlook the path where everyone walks . . . but not get in trouble for the disgusting smell that you got a whiff of every time you walked past?

Sorry Mom, I didn't mean to make fun of you so much. Especially for "back bed" . . . that one had it coming though haha I still think I need to go to Doc John and have him check out my door hand *chuckle* there I go again, sorry Mom :o)

And finally, we sat on an airplane for a total of 8 hours while being stuck at the Phoenix airport, then having a longer flight than usual because they flew up to Wyoming to get to DIA, then having to sit at DIA waiting for a gate to open. Talk about some good ol' quality family bonding. Mind you, the flight was only supposed to take an hour and 22 minutes.

It may not seem odd to other people. You're probably thinking "oh, that sounds like a fantastic family vacation". Which it was. But it's just those little things that happen that make me laugh, and really do make me appreciate spending time with my family. Cause then we all can laugh as we make fun of dumb high schoolers with loud music or white trash people sitting behind me on the airplane counting the number of planes in the air, having difficulty getting passed 9 with his counting. Be jealous, you all know you want to be a part of our family vacations that never seem to be normal in any way haha I love it
